Our Team
Mark Decker
Mark served as CEO of Centerspace (NYSE), a publicly traded apartment owneroperator with over 13,000 homes across the Midwest and Mountain West. During his tenure, he led a comprehensive repositioning of the company, focusing its strategy on apartment ownership and operations over the last six years. Mark was instrumental in reconstituting the executive team, board of directors, and balance sheet, as well as rebranding the company.
Prior to Centerspace, he had a successful career in investment banking, where he served as Group Head for US Real Estate Investment Banking at BMO Capital Markets. In this role, he managed over 300 capital markets and advisory transactions valued at over $93 billion, building several successful practices along the way. Mark is also a Trustee of Alpine Income Property Trust (NYSE: PINE) and serves on the board of Advanced Volumetrics Alliance, a private modular manufacturer. He is an active member of the Urban Land Institute.
John Minor
John brings nearly a decade of expertise in real estate securities management, most recently serving as Vice President and Portfolio Manager at Heitman. In this role, he was responsible for portfolio construction, risk management, and overseeing investment decisions for the firm’s $4.5 billion securities business.
John also led sector coverage for US residential and Canadian real estate, consistently demonstrating rigor in his investment processes. In 2023, he was honored as one of the “TopGun Investment Minds” in the US Real Estate / REIT sector by Brendan Wood International. He began his career at FactSet Research Systems and transitioned into real estate as a securities analyst at Principal Real Estate Investors. John holds a BS in Finance from Miami University and is a CFA Charterholder
Mike Koenig
Mike is an accomplished entrepreneur with over 30 years of success. Mike leads the Business Development efforts at Studio HOME, where he focuses on multifamily and affordable housing solutions. Previously, he served as President of Studio Shed / Studio HOME for 16 years, during which the company completed over 6000 projects across all 50 states, establishing itself as the national leader in the Accessory Dwelling Unit (ADU) market.
Prior to Studio Shed, Mike co-founded The Student Planner (1997), serving in the role as CEO for 12 years. Mike successfully grew the company to become the largest in its sector, showcasing his ability to identify and capitalize on market opportunities.
With a passion for creating sustainable communities, he leverages his extensive expertise to advance the company’s vision, drawing inspiration from the breathtaking beauty of the American West, his family, and his outdoor pursuits.
Melissa Duce
Connection and adaptability are the magnets that attracted Melissa to the world of real estate development and have become her professional strengths and personal passions.

Melissa uses her strong relationship-building skills to transform client goals into successful housing projects. Her emphasis on clear communication, along with her comprehensive understanding of project requirements and necessary steps, ensures clarity and reduces uncertainty for clients and team members alike. Melissa is keenly aware of the granular details that define the development process, including budget, time management, deadlines and design limitations. She employs her forward-thinking, proactive approach to help teams steer clear of hurdles and quickly identify solutions.
